Trivia

Sam's days and nights of word fight with an anonymous Twitter account is based on Justin Simien's experiences with Twitter trolls after 1st season premiere. But according to his interview at IndieWire.com, he "never went as hard or as long as Sam did", althought it was the necessary to realize how much energy he was wasting with it. See more »

It's as if the CW did a show about race relations....
7 May 2017 | by See all my reviews

With its heavy handed politics, poor acting, ignorant stereotypes not to mention some of the worst dialogue I've heard all year, "Dear White People" is the sort of ham fisted attempt at an 'intellectual' approach to race relations that a channel like the CW would attempt.

In 2017, I cannot believe we're getting stories where a black girl in a relationship with a white guy is considered shocking (oh and of course all her black friends resent her for it, like she's a traitor to "the cause" or something). Please. Oh and the scene where they watch the TV show together was just offensive.

The ONLY thing that got me through the whole of the first episode is Logan Browning, who is just stupidly hot.

But really, just don't waste your time with this dreck.
