Goofs

In the opening shot, you see a tape being placed into a vintage TEAC cassette deck which is "connected" to a PIONEER TX-608 which is "connected" to a speaker. This set up would never work as the TX-608 is a tuner only component. You would need either a receiver or a preamp/amplifier to actually connect the deck and the speaker to play and hear the cassette. See more »

Joe Hunt: It's a fake.
Ron Levin: But you thought it was an original.
Joe Hunt: Yeah.
Ron Levin: And why?... Because the perception of reality... is more real than reality itself...

Nothing special but it is enjoyable
17 July 2018 | by aldiborontiSee all my reviews

This is based on a real-life case and was made before as a TV movie in the 80s with Judd Nelson starring. This has higher production values and can boast Kevin Spacey in the cast, although boast may be the wrong word these days. Still whatever else may be said of him he's a great actor and I always enjoy seeing him.

Not a bad little movie, I'd recommend it.
