More accurate historically than Vikings
23 January 2018 | by diliscsavoSee all my reviews

The tittle says all. Those who complain about the historical accuracy should rather read history books or watch documentaries, and not show off with their wikipedia reading skills. This is an entertainment show not a history lecture, so judge it accordingly: it is entertaining, well made, so altogether a good series.

Other successful historical series are even less accurate, for example Vikings is historically non-sense, stuffing the history of 200 years in the lifetime of a single individual. Yet, Vikings is one of the greatest historical TV series ever produced. The only historically more or less accurate series were Rome and perhaps the Tudors, both being about well documented periods of history, with a lot of information on the motivation of the main characters available. When you do not have that, you need to make that up.

Oh, BTW, MA in History and I still love it.
